My oil pressure is just barely showing on gauge at idle. Full throttle pressure gauge just barely comes into the normal. Checked with two new gauges. I want to rebuild the oil pump. Is that possible or do I need to find a working oil pump?

First, is the stem in place on the oil filter housing? The oil filter sits on it. When the stem breaks/missing, oil pressure is lost.

As Andy said, the first thing to do is see if the filter is damaged, or the 1/4 inch tube with the 1/8 inch hole up the middle of the filter is gone, or broke.. That would allow excessive oil to be dumped back to sump..

Another possibility is a plugged suction screen in the oil pan.

Assuming both above are OK, then the wear is probably in the pump.. YES, you can remove it ( split tractor) and rebuild.. You might need new VANES or springs.. Side plates can be filed or machined FLAT of any wear. Replace face gasket so you have .001-.003 clearance on the VANES to side wall.

Yeah, like the guys mentioned, if the tube in the filter is solid and in good shape, it could be #15 in Steve's explosion. Those oil screens sure get mucky and slow up oil going into the pump. When I first restored my B, I couldn't believe the muck that was in that screen. It's a good thing I didn't try to start the engine when I first got the Tractor. It probably would've been a catastrophe when I tried to start it!

I removed the oil pan to clean sludge and clean suction screen which had a small amount of crud on it. I primed the oil filter tube prior to installing filter. There was air coming from tube so I believe it is okay. So it looks like I am splitting the tractor. Is there a source for new vanes and springs if needed? Thanks again for you input.
