What is a ideal oil pressure reading for a WD45D that has a couple of thousand hours on a rebuilt engine using 15w 40 motor oil at operating tempt of 190 degrees?

General rule of thumb is 10psi/1000rpm... If its on the r of the normal range, in the original AC guage, its OK...

Check my post below. It is on a gasser tho. Mine went up to the "l" on normal with fresh 15-40 rotella and new filter.

The diesel should run 50-60 psi @ full throttle. MACK

Was the oiling system on the diesel similar to gas or full pressure?

Diesel was a full pressure system. Filters were a bypass filter. MACK
