have a ca with the latter version oil pick up tube with the round flat-automotive type screen. The AC book calls it the "floating type oil intake screen". I have worked on the older pipe and screen version, but not the floating type. Stuck my finger in the oil pan hole and could move the screen assembly up and down, and left to right. Is this normal? Is it pinned onto the tube, allowing movement? or should I be concerned and drop the pan? Thanks Ron

i have a 1951 but the has the tube with the filter on the bottom. if your in doubt it is really easy to drop the oil pan.
