In the name of expediency I just dropped 40 bucks on a pair of oil filters. There has got to be a better price on quality filters somewhere.

I use Donaldson. Around 10 bucks delivered to my door. Google is your friend.

Rockauto Wix is $9 something.  Always a 5% off code floating around the internet also.

I did a search. First ones I found were Hastings 19.99. Used that at the parts store. Usually they'll price match(or close) internet pricing. Should have kept looking.

$11 a filter through Baldwin and I'll argue that you can't beat a Baldwin filter.

If I don’t drop a $1000 at my dealers spring parts buy I feel I forgot something. Think about the difference between a cheap filter and a Agco quality one and ask how far that goes to a rebuild. Look at the cut apart filter videos and realize not all filters are the same.

The ones I've cut apart the Baldwin has more pleats, better drain back valves, better gasket........ just a better filter all around. Now that is only on the filters I took apart. Filters for D17 gas, 190 diesel and 7050/7030 filters. BTW the absolute worst in just about every category was Fram. Still have the filters apart on my bench. And Cenex was about as close to a Baldwin for quality as anyone. I cut apart Baldwin, Wix, Cenex, AGCO, NAPA, Fram and Purlator. Some new and some used. I'd say out of those there are 3 manufactures that make the group. And not all were the same filter model so comparison was a little uneven.
