Also use a good hydraulic hose.  I blew one on the rake with the D-17 a couple weeks ago and I was soaked in oil.  I have gotten by with a regular cylinder on the D-17, but I stop and raise at idle and never max the cylinder out.  Best to get the right one. Greg

Good point Greg. Most farm store hydraulic hoses are 1 wire and aren't rated for 3000+ psi. I think you need a 2 wire hose to get a higher rating.

i got some from fleet farm for my lift arms, they havent blown yet, i havent used it much, so we'll find out. I did get a pitman arm from tractor supply, but i'll have to redrill it to get it registered.
