Shameless, we have a M2 we're not using here right now...just saying...
Might buy the whole combine and both heads for close to the cost of the gearbox for your machine...

Gosh,, back in the day around here( S. Wisc.) nobody ever started to combine before Oct. 15. If you did start early back then your neighbor's would stop by and ask if you needed help getting to the institution.

I know a few that have pushed it to get their corn out but this year is a little different. My neighbor has been taking corn out for the last 2 1/2 weeks at 15% moisture. Hard to not want to get it out when it doesn't need drying. He even has all his beans out and hauled to town.

dunno Slade....only was able to find a few, when i found alot of them, i called on them, and those places didn't have them even tho they advertised them! i'm running a 1440 right now, down from the 1460 i was running, gonna take the box off the 1460 as they are the same box. i see there's a 1440 near here for sale, for 1/2 the price of a used gear box, and with about 1/2 less hours than the combine i'm using now! gonna go look at it today! it's been a month now since i made the wasted appointment with the IH dealership! i know...i'm not the biggest farmer they service....but they did make the appointment....and then delayed it! PFFFT! when i was over there last week, they had (2) new machines apart all over the floor! doesn't look to me like they are field testing new stuff anymore! just building them and say'in..."yep...that ouata work"

Shameless,

Duffek Implement down in SE Nebraska usually allways has a good L2 for sale, maybe give him a ring. he is a super nice guy and seems to get pretty deep in them, so I am sure anything he sells should work well.

PS, he also sells 7 and 8 thousand series tractors! for that big need of a tax writeoff after the big corn check! Wink Big smile

well...i was out most of the afternoon unplugging the combine that Titan told me they'd charge me $80.00 an hour to do before they pull the rotor!!  went up in the cab to cut away some of the cab kit that the mice had fun with over the winter! they even chewed up the fabric softener sheets i had in there, and the seat! pfffft! for some reason....i hit the key on the combine....and it started right up!!! good thing i had taken the hammer out of the cab earlier!! now i'll call them back in the morning....after i start it, drive it to the highway and leave it running til they get here!  and i'll bet the Capt has great high beams for driving at night on that lear!! be safe ya'll!
