I like tractors and working them. But lately the shipping has been a big letdown.
Now the UPS (brown) guys have miss-sorted my tractor part package. Sent it to St Charles Louisiana instead of New York. Their tracking update tells me this. So when tracking is not updated for 4 days, you know something is up. And now it is stuck in the mud at the "bayou" facility since midnight, and still has not left. If they make their new promise date that would be 13 calendar days. Takes the desire to work of stuff out of me.

Seems I have very good luck.  Especially with USPS.  I generally use them, although I don't ship a lot of stuff.

when you ship a ZILLION packages , if you have 99.999% accuracy, there are STILL a BUNCH of packages that will have a problem..
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Just an opinion, but you may want to change your ways of shipping-

The package was sent to me. I asked the sender if they could use the US post service (USPS), he said no, we use UPS.  So now 18 hours later it still hasn't been scanned out of the facility. Is it normal for packages to sit at a UPS facility that long? I called and got a human, she said they should be moving it out at about 3:30 Friday day morning.

Amazon also as had a lot of hiccups, lets say 10% are problems to me.
Their associate vendors fail. When it says "sold and shipped by Amazon", there is good luck. But usually the oddball items I buy involves a third party seller. Like a left-hand thread metric die and such.

All in all the postal service (USPS) has been good for me, wherever I have lived.
I never really got the jokes about the US mail, but would laugh anyways.

I ship via USPS, and use their Priority Mail boxes ass often as I can.  You can save a lot of money if it's heavy parts.  The boxes are the same price no matter how much they way.  I get my amazon packages the net day if I order early in the day.  I'm usually not in any big hurry to get what I order anyway!  I did get a truck shipment that took awhile to finally get here, but I was tracking it and it kept moving.  The company that was trucking it was CIVA, I think that is their name.  I was pleased with their service.  So far so good, but the news is talking the USPS is going to start slowing down their delivery service.  Oh well!

Probably been a couple years ago that I ordered a 3 point conversion kit from OK tractor . UPS driver carried it to my shop . All he had was the wishbone . I asked him where the rest was and he said that's it . Called Jim and he said it was shipped together and I should wait a couple days . After 2 or 3 days the rest of it showed up . I seem to have better luck with the USPS , but I don't think they handle heavy stuff . THANKS !

UPS leaves a lot to be desired these days...if there was another BIG carrier to go with, I would do that and forget about UPS...they're getting worse as time goes by and I've been dealing with them for 50 years!   Rick

We've had problems with UPS also.  The local driver does not like dogs so that might be part of the problem.  Although our dogs never run loose. I was next door talking to the neighbor & the UPS guy did a drive by & kept going.  That was his "3rd try".  I get a phone call from their warehouse 50 miles away asking if I want to drive there to pick up my package.  Even though he drove past me on his "#rd attempt".  FedEx seems to be the way to go here.

Everyone has success with shippers until they don’t. It’s when problems occur that the proof is in the pudd’in. Visit the Consumer Affairs website to read reviews on USPS. They are totally committed to taking your money and to no accountability when things go wrong. They steadfastly refuse to speak directly to you and to providing bogus reasons for not paying out insurance claims. There is only one way through this bureaucratic mess I’m aware of. That is their Office of the Consumer Advocate. Buyer beware!

I have always had good luck with UPS. I use them for heavier & bulky things that don't fit the USPS flat rate boxes. Only once did I receive a package with nothing in it, That was a starter that wasn't packed properly. In that case the seller refunded my money.
I've mailed a few small things in padded envelopes that got shredded by the sorting machines. Although they were things that didn't cost much and I just re-sent them. Last fall into early this year the Post Office was very slow and we were sending all bill payments with tracking and they moved better than un-tracked mail. Last week we received a box with a broken jar of pickles in it that was in a plastic bag and in a separate tub from all of or other mail, so at least our local carrier is doing what he can.
All in all I have no gripes with UPS or USPS.
I never ship anything by Fed-EX as I've encountered TOO many A$$hole fed ex drivers on the highways as well as Wrecks and fires involving Fed-Ex trucks. Fortunately packages sent to me by Fed-Ex do seem to get here, with the exception of a package that one driver left at the wrong address and it wasn't even on my road. Lucky for me the person were it was left brought it to me. The Fed-Ex customer service received my complaint with courtesy and concern. Who knows of any action toward the driver at fault?

My nephew used to work for FedEx.  FedEx is a franchise operation.  Each local FedEx route is bid on and awarded to the highest bidder who then buys his own trucks and hires his own drivers.  The guy my nephew worked for had 5 routes. That's why FedEx service varies so much from one place to another.  West of where I live there's a small, rural county that is one FedEx route.  The guy who runs the route is the owner and the driver so he has incentive to do a good job. UPS is a union shop.  USPS is a government agency.  I ship via USPS regularly and have few problems.  Occasionally something gets damaged but not very often.

   Howdy All,
Got trouble with all deliveries. Never the same driver is the worst part. But what takes the cake is the simple US mail. If I don't have incoming mail they will never stop to pickup out going mail. Yep red flag up and them US mail drivers can't find the brake pedal. Even goes for the lady post master when she has to drive when someone don't come in! O you can file a complaint. When you call the 800 number recorded massage says due to the pandemic is the reason for all the inefficiencies !!!

Well my part arrived, they (UPS) made their second estimated date.
I don't know how they miss-sorted it (man or machine), the label was clean.
It would be interesting to see a detailed write up of their operation.

As for getting stuff fast, McMaster-Carr has a large warehouse nearby (90 miles west).
If I order before 10Am, I may have it the next day if they use UPS. UPS has a big center
11 miles west of me. If it gets on one of those trucks early, I will have it by 5pm.

As for the USPS,  used to be the mailman came around once per day.
Now I see them all day long driving around town. I think it had something
to do with a contract with Amazon, and maybe others.

We also have an Amazon Facility nearby. Their trucks are all over the place now, they park along the side of the road, I keep having to drive around them.  Why did they decide to get into the trucking business. Did they calculate they could do it cheaper.
haven't seen a delivery drone yet. Maybe that idea went bust.

FedEX driver proves my point, this happened yesterday 8/18/21 on the interstate just south of Frederick, Md.  Somebody's packages are going to be late if the even get there.
