Are the Deutz Fahr tractors currently being sold a good unit?
I know they were bought out by SLH, the same ones that build the Agco 5600, 6600, 8600 series tractors which didn't have a good reputation from what I understand. Are the Deutz Fahr a SLH tractor with green paint or are they a separate line of tractors? Anybody know anything about them? Thank you |

The new Deutz's, from what I have read, are considered to be about on par with Fendt.

yes basically the agco equiv as you stated,
with a deutz motor for many models. I would not elevate these over the Agco models,,,, the tractor plant probably still has the same issues, we receive calls on the units sold for electrical issues..

All duetz engines are watercooled, have been for quite a while. Fendt was using deutz engines for a long time, I think they are really good. Trev.

I had heard they went to all liquid cooled now. I believe a combination of emissions regulations and noise regulations. The air cooled deutz engines can be loud.
I would imagine the liquid cooled engines would be a quality engine. Especially if Fendt is using them. What about the rest of the Deutz Fahr tractor? Are they decent? |

The Deutz engine in the Bomag trash compactor I run at work is water cooled.

If they are comparable to the old 8600 series AGCO's I would run.

deutz still builds AirDiesels... Fendt used a few sisu and also Mann engines in some models. the new HHP is a Mann We sold many of the 8610 and 8630, all still running, there were a lot worse units out there. PArts may become an issue in some areas though. The question 'are they any good' would be a highly opinionated question with the same answer. I would not go that route simply because there are as good units in other brands that have a stronger dealer organization and parts support. If you are around an old line dealer like Ward Bros in NC that's a different story. The product is no better than the dealer support.
