new to me Allis-Chalmers C tractor

   Howdy;I will take possession of A-C C tractor tomorrow that is 'not running'. I am new to vintage tractors and have many questions. 
1. Should I soak the cylinders with Marvel Mystery Oil befoer trying to start the tractor?
2.What is the procedure to start the C tractor?
3.What brand and wieght oil should I run in the C tractor?
4. What brand and weight of gear oil should runin the Transmission and rear end of the C tractor.
5. What kind of anitfreese should I run in the C tractor.
Anything else I should know and where can I find the answers? I have ordered an 'Operators Manual'. I know there is mucho knowledge out there and surely would appreciate any help so I can enjoy my new A-C C tractor as you all do.

	First is it stuck or will turn over and will not start? If it has set for a long time and still turns over, remove the spark plugs and squirt motor oil in each cylinder. About a table spoon amount. Remove the valve cover and squirt oil over each valve stem, push each valve down to make they move freely. Drain oil and put in fresh oil. Remove the oil filter and put a hose on the stand pipe and fill the hose and let it seep down and refill. Leave hose over the rocker arms. Take number one spark plug wire and turn engine over by hand and watch for a spark. If and when you see spark instantly look in the inspection hole for the TDC line on the flywheel. If you do not get a spark you will need to clean the points and check again. If it is stuck it is a different game and it will need to turn over to use the above instructions. When I have a stuck one I personally disassemble the engine rather than try the soaking of the cylinders. A lot of people have some luck in getting the stuck engines unstuck. I personally do not have the patience to unstuck a stuck engine with the magic potions. You will get advise here from others on the several best ways.

	Dick pretty much covered it. For engine coolant, just use ordinary green coolant. If you thoroughly flush it out, you can use Dexcool if you like. I did only because everything at my place has Dexcool in it. For the transmission, they used 20w motor oil in the beginning. Now most people fill them with universal tractor fluid. The final drives at each rear wheel 80-90 or 75-140 is fine. As far as engine oil is concerned, ask 10 guys what oil is best and you will probably get 10 different answers. SAE 30w non detergent motor oil was recommended for summer use and 20w for cold weather down to like 20 degrees. 10w oil for single digits and below. Pick your favorite brand, however, most folks will poo poo Pennzoil and Quaker State. I use Mobil 1 0-20 in my CA so it would start in extreme cold weather. I also have it in my Oliver 60 that is designed very similarly to the B,C,CA engine. Might be overkill, but that's what I use. I also add BG Products' "MOA" to the oil. MOA is not some snake oil or other secret stuff, it's just detergent, friction modifier, and acid neutralizers that is found in all good quality motor oils. Like I said, probably overkill, but that's what I use here.

	Thank you all for your knowledge and suggestions. I will follow them to the letter. I will see the tractor tomorrow and see if is stuck or not. I am not sure how long it has set but I did see what loks like a new gas filter and other items that look like someone has taken care of it in the past, hope so... 	Hope you get the engine going without too much hassle, and that you have fun with your new AC. If it has hydraulics you can use 20 weight engine oil in the transmission, or "tractor lube". If it is without hydraulics you can use gear oil. Don't forget to change the gear oil in the final drives, many are nasty from not being changed. And especially if the tractor will ever be out in the rain keep a good boot on the shift lever, water will get into the transmission down the shift lever if the boot is bad.
