I would like to use my NH 489haybine behind my WD 45. How would I hook up lines to raise and lower the cylinder to lower the cutter. I have been told to hook the side of the cylinder that raises haybine to rear port on tractor and put a valve in the other side that you would manually open to lower it. Any ideas?

We ran that model with a wd45 and we used a single action cly with a breather vent on the rod end. Worked fine that way. Does not need a double action cly to operate.

Run a 488 NH behind a D17 with single acting cyl with no problem. Take hose off of cylinder rod end and replace with breather. Do it with cylinder extended or you will have a mess.

Ditto...use a single hose and bleeder on our AC390. Works great.

I have a 492 and only use one side even on bigger tractors. Make sure your cylinder will work with the 45 pressure. I’m not sure what tires you have on your tractor, seemed the 45 was a little fast in 2nd w/ 14.9’s for mowing heavy grass. I recommend checking your pto speed as well so you don’t over rev the mower. Those tractors seem to make things sing like they never had before.
