Happy Thanksgiving morning y’all !!!
My parents took off on a quick run Birmingham,Al. last weekend and bought this ‘59 D14 that upon first glance dad thought the hood panels and center strip were cut down for some mysterious reason but after staring at it and pondering could it possibly be this was a LP tractor at one time and converted or was LP tin used instead of possible standard gas sheet metal?? I have no idea and the owner didn’t either as he had a very,very large collection of tractors and cars his family was helping sell off from what my Dad understood to be for final medical reasons.Sorry for the crappy pics but couldn’t get the keys from dad as we're scrambling around getting ready. All in all ,it’s really clean and the paint is really good aside from the rear housing area and the black dash and blacked out inner fenders. I’ve got the correct choke rod and dad says he has another carb for this tractor so that’s taken care of.Almost new GY and Firestone shoes,rims and it runs really well.
     So this brings me to the sheet metal....I’ve found the center hood piece from our neighbor and Ryan a member here along with some other generous folks here have given me access to buy both panels so that’ll leave me with the tank strap left to finish up the hood conundrum. Which I’ll be selling these pieces soon so if anyone needs them hit me up.

Heyp, that was an LP hood... air filter tube is different, too, so it was probably an LP tractor from the git-go.  Might be higher compression ratio... so if it seems strong, that's probably why...
Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.

That's a really nice looking D14. It doesn't look like it's been used, since it was restored. Mine has a long way to go before it's anywhere close to that nice looking!

@ Dave thanks,that’s good info because I have no idea of knowing for sure how it left AC. And since this is a first time having such an animal I checked the serial just to see if there were any numerical info that would indicate a LP tractor but not that I could tell.

Thanks Steve...it should be a fun little project to finish up for sure. Problem is Dad is the one retired and I’m not so I’m having a little trouble keeping up with his projects.😁

Look on the right side of the block of the tractor there is # and letter at the end, let me know what the letter is that will tell if was a factor propane or not.

Here ya go Richard,this number is on the serial number side behind the carb/air cleaner hose.

The number is ...149-10756T ...or 149-I0756T. I swear the the first numeric after the dash looks like an capital i and not a 1. The hash looks like it goes across the top instead of stopping like a numeric 1.I use these same stamps at work on tire molds and if the stamps aren’t placed perfectly and struck they can look like anything but what they aren’t sometimes.

Can someone confirm for me that the D14 decals are supposed to be on the bottom of the hood panels toward the rear and not on the nose cone?

A little update on this LP conversion.Got some new sheet metal thanks to Ryan and since I didn’t want to fool with paint matching I let my friend who owns a shop full of Mopar race cars do the painting for me.Then I rebuilt an old Marvel carb ,took the Zenith off and put in a new set of points along with all new gauges,alternator,headlights ,new sediment bowl,choke rod and made a new fuel line.After sorting out some gremlins it runs like an AC D14 should now.

D14's never had decals on the nose cone.  Here are the proper decals and their placement depending on the year.  Both tractors are 100% original, never repainted.
