Well I finally made a deal with an old friend who decided to part with this WF....
![]() ![]() Still has a flawless steering wheel after all of these years...
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It's loose and rolls, but that's as far as I got today. Needs some TLC, but all in all it's a nice old unit. Just wanted to share. Chad

Beautiful tractor, good for you. I sure like the unstyled over the styled ones.

Thanks for the comments...although it may be left the way it is. After the mechanical issues are taken care of, I figure a wash and some new rear tires should do it. Hard to tell from the pics, but under the layers of dust, she looks pretty good. Hope to have a update tommarrow.

WOW, what a PEACH of a WF!!
Did you get the hood also? I hope!
Also, it should be no more than a 1938, the unstyled to styled change, was in 38'.

Chad, that's quite a find! The unstyled WF is another one on my wish list (preferably original). Keep us posted...

If you have the hood and it matches the existing paint i would most defiantly leave it alone! Very nice original!

Very nice find. I would agree, it's too nice to restore. Those unstyled WF's are rare in my part of the world. Styled ones are quite common. Found another one yesterday that I have to go and check on.

Yup jhid, that's the hood. Unfortunately the birds did a number on the paint, but it is in the same shape as the rest of it. I may be in the market for nice hood with original paint sometime.

Don(MI), the WF's stayed unstyled until early 1940 and Chad they are only original once and this one looks good enough to stay that way.

DON'T touch it! Leave it originial. Even if the hood is not perfect, it will show the history of the tractor. I'd take a hard look at the tires before I'd replace them especially if they are near originial and had the old pre 1960 size. 11 x 28 instead of 12.4 x 28. When I come home from any show, its the originial tractors that I remember the most.

Ah, I stand corrected. Thanks Lonnie.
Wonder why they did that? Maybe to use up inventory of sheetmetal?

Chad, you have a very nice piece to add to your collection. That tractor is in very good hands. I'm thinkin' that tractor will be in your family for a very long time.
When you look at the pic directly above, Dave is right. It has the stance and look of the D21. Pretty cool.

verry nice, I like to see a good non restored tractor at a show. It shows origanality that you can't find after one has been painted. Just my opinion. I bet you had to loosen your hat after this purchace. Great find and paint or not thanks for sharing. Scott

Personally, I think the styled WF was one of the prettiest tractors Allis built. But you got a nice one there.

While I never sold one I truly believe that the flat top WF is one of the nicest looking AC tractors made by Allis Chalmers.
Allen Dilg restored one that was displayed in AGCO Headquarters in Atlanta. I was fortunate to see it at GOTO "Coming Home" 2005. Beautiful machine. Great find! Good Luck! Bill Long PS: Give us pictures as it progesses |

Been some time since I posted on this 'ol WF, but I did make quite a bit of progress on it. Runs great now, but had some issues. Exhaust valves were so tight, I had no compression on 2 cylinders ( ran but sounded like a deere ). I had a carb rebuilt for it, thanks to DaveinGB, and the steering is in the process of being redone. Still not sure if It will be restored sometime in the future due to the fact it was repainted quite a few years ago already. For now, it will just be enjoyed as-is. My 3 year old daughter Kendall and I had a chance to take it out for a ride last week before the snow.....![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() She approved, other than it was to loud LOL! Just wanted to share.
