I bought another B.  This one is a 1942.  I bought it from the family that purchased the tractor new.  They bought it in Gadsden,Alabama in 1942 and used it on their Dairy farm.  It has been restored in the past, but still needs a bit of work.  It's cool to be the second owner.

Awesome! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
Also...anyone know if that swinging draw bar is a very common option? I've never seen one.

Chris and everyone.  Thank you.  It's good to be back.  This little B engine is apparently back together wrong.  I think the timing is off between the cam and crank.  I'm going to pull the front cover and pan to peek inside.  When I try to start it, it seems to be 180 degrees out.  It is trying to fire in the carb.  We'll see.  Man told me he had it rebuilt 10 years ago and it never got started again.  I think someone did something wrong.

Swinging hitches are not too rare but are uncommon. That one is not a  factory swinging hitch it is home made.

Getting something that has been in the same family for 75 years is special.  Looks to be a nice little B, congratulations on your new purchase.

Chris,
I've tried everything.  It's a magneto.  The flywheel matches with the compression stroke of #1, but when I crank--it only pops occasionally and through the carb.  I may mess with it one more time before pulling the engine.  One thing I did notice right away was the brass bushing for the mag drive was not even replaced.  Makes you wonder about what else was done incorrectly inside.  It might be worth the effort to peek at it.
Name?  Dunno.

Hub one thing to look at since they worked on it is the valve rocker arm clearance, If they had the head plained or the head gasket is thinner and they didn't adjust the valves they will be to tight.

Thanks B26240.  That is an excellent thought.  It also made me think that I should be able to determine if the cam and crank are in sync looking at the valve train!  I'll try that.

For some GREAT tips on the timing of the mag, send TomMN a PM.  He showed me a couple of great tips that make it almost fool proof at Hutch.  THANKS Tom Foss!!

If you crank it by hand till you feel compression on #1, then bring that piston to the top, you can take the cap off and see where the rotor is pointing to tell if it's timed close.
If it is, I would pull the valve cover to check clearance before I would pull the front cover and oil pan.
