I have a question about my 170. I feel kinda dumb asking it but where is the engine oil filler located? DO I use the breather cap up on the valve cover? My manual shows it being on the side of the engine block but on my tractor it is not there. I have searched online and can find very little about the allis tractors. Thanks

Engine oil will go to correct place thru valve cover. Which engine do you have. Some had the oil filler cap on side of engine at governor housing. Gas and diesels were different.HTH Tracy

On gas models, there is a cap on the governor assembly on the right side of the engine. Diesel models have a filler neck on the right side of the engine block. Post pictures when you get a chance so we can see.

Hi guys,
It is the gas model. There is a cap on what I think is the govener housing on the right side of the engine. It also has the breather cap on the valve cover. My owners manual shows a filler cap and tube on the side of the block. I am thinking they accidently put a picture of the diesl engine in that section of the manual. Engine is original to the tractor. Thanks for the reply's. I am a pretty decent back yard mechanic when it comes to small block chevy's and old chevy pickups but have never worked on tractors much, so I am sure I will be on here asking newbie questions till I get her all figured out.
