    Posted: 23 Aug 2011 at 10:04pm
Help,  can someone tell me what I need to put in my 190Xt for hydraulic fluid and transmission fluid. The book says something about type A automatic transmission fluid.  I am wanting to know if there is something at tractor supply that will meet the specs for both hydraulic and tranny.
Thanks a bunch

I am pretty sure Allis said PowerFluid821 would work in the transmission/hydraulic compartments of it's tractors.  If it's like a 7000, you can use 821 (or an equivalent Universal Tractor Fluid) in the transmission/hydraulic sump and the rear end, but not the final drives.

You should be able to tell by looks and smell if you got type A or Dextron. If you plan on changing the entire hydraulic oil I'd use 821 or universal fluid. I wouldn't mix type A and universal fluid.

it was recommended by a dealer to put Ambra 134 in my hydraulics and Permatran 821XL in the trans, so far so good for my 180.

Can I use Universal Hydraulic fluid in the tranny also?  I am most confused about what to put in the tranny.
