Have a lawn and garden tractor, used, that I just bought for the snow plow purpose. Got the wheel weights on, and the tire chains. What is the best method for the chain tight-in things! LOL The rubber loop ones with the weights don't seem like they will work? any ideas??

We take iner tubes and cut them in small strips as rubber bands and use the hooks from the cross pieces off the tire chains.

               I   never use those rubber chain tighteners, just get the chains as tight as you can  when installed the first time and after you  run them for awhile retighten them again.

What I do is let a little air outta the tires, put the chains on, then air up the tires. Tires will be tight and not come loose.

I do the same and I also got the 5 pointed spring tighteners from tirechains.com, or whatever that sites name is!  The only problem I have is the cross chains wearing out.  But that is only every 8 - 10 years, so I just live with it!
