This nice little A-C 5hp Scamp was on Ebay last week.  It was located in Marshalltown Iowa, which I thought was where Correctionville, Iowa was, only a two hour drive away for me.  We made an offer on it and the guy took it right away so I was thinking it was pretty close to pick up and I got a pretty good deal on it.  When I checked the map I noticed I had a five hour drive to pick it up, not two, and ten hours round trip, so that kinda sucked.  I burned up all yesterday afternoon and into the night to go and pick it up.  It is in very nice shape for being forty years old.  It has very nice original paint and has a few fixes here and there on it.  The guy that I bought it from got it on a household auction and he said the guy was the original owner and was in his eighties.  He said it always started on the second pull and so far that has been true.  It also came with the operator's manual and the discharge shield for the deck.

I think it was worth the drive.

Just wanted to share.  Thanks.

We have one too, its a 405. Not sure which model came first. These little guys will pop wheelies, don't ask how I know!!

They are basically a glorified push mower, that looks like the model G.

I have never seen one of these. A great looking little find. If only Greenbow, AL. had an Allis Chalmers dealer, Forest Gump may have had one of these instead of a Snapper.
