My first photobucket attempt

   Here goes. The topic "easiest Way to Post Pic's ..." from Chris/CT triggered my initiative to come into the 21st century. Downloaded photobucket -that was easy- and then followed the instructions from omahagreg and Coke-in-MN (thankyou both). My test photo is of a home built articulated loader built by a self taught genius named Maurice Newton (Sir Issacs brother?). Never knew the man but he taught himself hydraulics (I have his homebuilt self propeller hydrostatic 80 hp snowblower too)- made from a Massey combine,chev steering axle,JD 3130, it's 4 wd drive., diesel motor all connected hydraulically-3 ranges). For some reason he has the blower geared to another transmission so it can blow in reverse as well as I think about 2000 rpm (which I don't use). I'll post some pictures now that I know how if anyone is interested.

Anyway, his daughter told me he created blueprints first then went scrounging for parts. The axles for the loader apparently are supposedly from some Allis machine-but I can't figure out what?. The engine I think is a continental diesel and he glued it together with 2 transmissions and a torque converter. The picture doesn't do his work justice -here goes

	Very nice piece. That man was pretty talented. By the one visible wheel center, it looks like they could be WC axles.

	Daughter said that he built it without the cab and then decided to use it for moving snow.-hence the cab. Even though the cab doesn't look like much all the pieces fit together remarkably well. I think he made it as a proto-type cab and never got around to doing one in steel. He lived to be 90ish and was still active doing woodworking. He was particularly fascinated by hydraulics-apparently self taught. He made an attachment for the snowblower that was essentially a 3 arm articulated arm that had a hydraulically run lawn mower attachment so he could trim the sides and top of his 200' cedar hedge. At his sale there were countless inventions that he built. I wish I would have had the chance to get to know him.

	Those trunion mounted dump cylinders remind me of the HD4 loaded but mounted with a backward facing cylinder. A lot of head csratching on geometry of that part is what i would see if it was me doing it. Someone had a lot of talent to shop build something like that. Thanks for sharing !

	At first glance I would not have thought " homemade " loader! The Bob Vela cab is a hint to the fab work, but the loader sure looks factory. And yes, I wanna see a Massy combine/snowblower! I'm thinking ,30' header, one pass and the road is clear,and talk about great visibility!

	In the last picture you can clearly see the fender brackets on the WC brake covers. Yep, would have been an interesting guy to spend time with.
