I know this has been discussed before, but, does any one know what company was the last to make the M&W Power seal engine kit was? Seems i remember they quit making them? Sure would like to find a set for a 8070.
Thanks
Randy

You may not be able to deal with them directly. I believe that they have been purchased by Howard Enterprises of Indiana.

What?

Who do you order from, and what have you been getting?

I had no idea you guys dealt in parts like this!

I did some checking today, Hershel Adams told me that the plant where they got M&W power Seal kits did burn down and all molds were lost, had hoped that was not the case, now am checking with Toms Agri Diesel. Thanks for all the help.

Gee, I guess this means when I tear down my WD45 engine - the pistons go off to a custom maker.

They were Pow'R Seal, and were a measured 8.2:1 compression.

I put a set of Power Seal M&W knock offs in my 45 and they were 6.5 C/R instead of 7.25 like the real M&W's I replaced.I don't remember(been a while)but it seems like they were listed as WD45/D17 replacement.Maybe yours were for 175?They did NOT advertise C/R.I did a crude CC of bowls and the new ones held abut 10cc's more.Rough math indicated the stock 45 C/R on the new stuff. You call tell the difference on a hard load.

I bought mine in '93 at the Louisville Farm Show. The guys were in a small booth that had signs to the effect "M&W Add-Power".

The boxes said "Pow'R Seal". It was mostly Farmall stuff.

I asked about M&W parts for Allis' at the time and I believe they said they had been "bought" by another company and were selling as much of the old inventory stuff as they could at Louisville and other farm shows. I asked about a '45 sleeve piston kit - and the one I have is the last one they had then, cost me $290.

The guy brought the box out from under a table, and the other attendant remarked that some other guy (can't remember the name) "was going to kill you for selling those!".

I can understand why, I reckon these pistons had the extra compression point yours didn't.

I didn't put them in an engine till '2000 or so. They've been run hard for many hours and need a revisit. Never had a problem with them, stoutest farming WD I've ever sat on.

My dad was the local mechanic. He used to keep M&W kits for WD&WD45 on hand. He passed away in 2000.Last year cleaning out some old stuff from the "still useable section" I happened upon NOS WD M&W's. Not gonna sell them for any price. Also found a set of used 45 M&W's pistons that look a good bit better than the one's I replaced.Considering slappin them in with a set of rings and get my old tractor back.
