I looked through FB looking at tractors. Saw a 1938 B with ND military surplus 9.00x20 Budd rims on the rear. Interesting. Then I saw it has front hydraulic disc brakes! Yes, front disc brakes!

This may be a first.

My first thought was they got tired of hand brakes on the rear so they added front brakes to compensate. however I yet to see a brake pedal???

Agreed. It appears there is a hard brake line running along the bottom the the oil pan. I don't see a master cylinder. I would like to seee a rear view of tractor to see if something is attached to hand brake linkage.

more pics....
my pet peeve when ads only have 1 picture....
up here Kijiji allows 10 free pictures per ad. Most only post 1 or 2 ,usually sideways or upside down.
yeesh, I'd like a minimum of 6 to actually SEE what the item(car, truck, tractor) ACTUALLY looks like...

ok, rant over, off to garage to work on the XT225 for a bit....

My rant: seller posts ad for CA transmission, but won't reply to my inquiry about buying it. If sold, seller should say so or delete the ad.

I had texted the owner asking about the disc brakes as well

Almost looks like an in-completed installation job, and as others have noted; no lever or pedal to operate the "calipers" which appear to not be clamping the rotor; just pushing against it.  No sign of further tubing alongside the engine or torque tube either.

Enhanced the photo a bit for more detail, but not much improvement.

By ND, do you mean Non-Directional ?

I'll bet them smooth front tires really stop good in the mud or on a slick surface. Look like car rims to me. At first I thought they might be using them to space the rims out on the little tractor, but in the last picture there are brake lines showing.
