    Posted: 13 Aug 2018 at 10:50am
I'm finally starting to work on my herd of Model G tractors.

Yesterday I started draining the oil from G20304. When I removed the Drain Plug I noticed that the Drain Plug Gasket (Part # 800285) was in poor condition. This "gasket" is a thin copper washer. The one on G20304 may not be original and could be a copper washer that was substituted for a correct part.

I have an oil pan from a parts tractor and the Drain Plug Gasket on it is not as "wide" as the one on G20304.

I can certainly use the one off of the Parts Tractor but I was wondering...

Is there a source for a proper Gasket, Drain Plug (Part # 8008285)?

I've done a little looking but haven't found anything so far.

jaybmiller,

That sounded like it had possibilites but I just looked at their site and the Copper Washer Assortment they have now doesn't have an Inside Diameter that is large enough.

Thanks!

A lot of Auto Parts stores have an assortment box of replacement oil pan gaskets and plugs. Try a couple stores in your neighborhood to see if they have 1 that fits.

I have a sheet of copper. Also a sheet of zinc plated copper. I could make some washers, or sell some of the sheet.

A heavy truck service center or an equipment dealer should have the larger diameter washers, if your local parts stores don't.

Thanks Gents!

I thought this would be an obscure item but it looks like there are lots of possible sources.

Best regards,
