went and looked at a C this weekend on my way to in-laws. it was dark and i did not get photos.  stored inside, good paint and rear tires.  front tires were flat and possibly bad.  1947.   possibly a set of cultivators to go with but not up on the implements.   oil pan was off and one rod cap missing.  assuming an engine overhaul, is this tractor worth more that scrap ~ $200?    owner also had a wd45, by curved shifter and serial #, but sitting outside long time, tires junk  guessing ~$200.

what do you guys think

I would definitely pay that much for the C. You said rear tires are good- that alone is worth it and the rest is for free!

I'm wit' Pete on that one. At the price of tires, that's exactly what yer' doin'. Buying a pair of tires and getting a Tractor with it!  Great!

Buy both, put 'em together, and get a CA-45!

this lady is a widower and has no idea what anything is worth.  i was trying to give her a ballpark figure for the tractors.  I am interested in the tractors at scrap price but am trying to be fair and impartial.  i have not had anything smaller than a w series at this point.

Some say a good CA will out-do a WC. Not sure if there's any truth to that, but that's what I heard.

I've got both a CA and a WC. I haven't done a head-to-head test to see which outdoes the other, but I have pulled a two-bottom SC plow with my CA. All I can tell you is that the engine barks and it digs in and pulls like the dickens when the plowing gets tough! Course, the CA is a tad different than the C mentioned in the OP........

That is a steal for BOTH tractors!  I love my C and wouldn't know what to do without it!  I have a woods mower deck on it and cut all my grass with it!
Gonna cost $$$ to do an engine overhaul, but then you'll never need to touch it again.
The WD45 is nothing but a project.  Tires alone are $$. With scrap prices what they are, I wouldn't give her more than $200 each.
