Just thought I'd share the progress of a resto-mod of a basket case C I bought two years ago for $300...yes I know it has a B front end , but that's how I found it.   After the usual maintenance I got it running and stopping reliably...I set about installing live hydraulics, 3 point hitch and then power steering. The hydraulic pump is just a typical gear type pump that is mounted to radiator support and driven by a shaft through the hand crank hole...hand built a tank and mouted it under the seat along with a single spool valve. Plumbed it up and fabricated a three point hitch system and a receiver hitch for a draw bar. The factory steering box was shot, so I replaced it with the power steering gear box from a KIA sportage.. Had to add a rocker arm to reverse the direction of steering as the kia is exactly backwards. Plumbed it into my hydraulic circuit and voila'...sweet easy and tight steering. It's just a delight to drive now...ready for mowing season to start!

Nice setup. I didn't know you could do power steering on one of those. Love the hydraulic upgrade the custom tank look factory under the seat.

If it were an original C steering setup, I think you wouldn't have needed
that reversing link. If you have them, could you post pictures of KIA box
installed without the toolbox.
Thanks

Wow that's great!
Can I ask you how you added the shaft for the hydraulic pump?
I tried and failed to do the same thing I would be grateful for any tips.
I used a chain and sprocket for my live hydraulics it works but is noisy.
Would you mind if I use your idea for the power steering?
I won't if you prefer I don't thanks.

I'd like to see some pics of the pump drive too. What is that front weight from? I've thought of adding live hyd to my b when I get around to redoing it. If I get a pump on I thought of using a hyd torque generator to get power steering.
There are 3 ways to do job GOOD, FAST, CHEAP. YOU MAY CHOOSE 2. If its FAST & CHEAP it won't be GOOD, if it's GOOD & CHEAP it won't be FAST, and if its GOOD & FAST it won't be CHEAP!!!!

A 3\4" shaft ground to a point fits into crank hole and centers its self
I drilled throuh ears on pulley and pump shaft and pinned it with a 1\4" grade 8 bolt. Mount a flange bearing on inside of radiator support to carry it...adapt other end to pump.
