Anyone know what this pin behind the control box is for? It goes through the steering support tube, has cotter pins on either side. It's not drilled for the choke rod. Any ideas?
It is at the very top of the picture. Thanks! |

I never saw that before. Mine have a bolt and nut and the ground strap is mounted on the other side. Bob

The battery ground isn't in the picture, but it's above the control box. Does the starter have a separate ground? I thought it grounded through the frame...

Yes, the starter is grounded through the torque tube. but the battery is grounded to the post in your picture with a bolt and nut. After the old rust and paint are removed. LOL Bob

Could be the B may have been a handcranker at one time. The steering support post on a handcrank is drilled with a different set of holes than one with electric start. The throttle Quadrant on a handcranker was mounted where the electric box is mounted on a electric start B.
