This is not my tractor. Looking to get input on a decent price?
I e-mailed the guy for more info because he had it originally listed as a 1937. When he came back with photos and the serial number I informed him it was a 39.
Below are the photos he sent. They are asking $4000.00, a little high in my book based on the description. Just wanted to help him out. Its located near Bastrop, so I hope the fires have not taken this one. Anyone interested call Chuck Stonier at 512-626-4558.

Just trying to help this guy out.

"This tractor was restored about seven years ago and Bryan has the paper work which came with the tractor at the time it was manufactured such as the manual and what ever else the dealer gave too a purchaser. Tires are new and it did run thought it has not been started in some time. The pto works I am told. " ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by Jeff(WD45-SATX-TN) - 06 Sep 2011 at 8:57pm |

its hard to get $2000. for a B even if its "restored". This one does not appear to have a generator, starter, or battery system... Im not interested at that point.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I hope he gets it. That'll make my 38 a $1500 tractor.

My Dad always said there is a fool born every day but you might have to wait for him to grow up to make the sale.

Wonder why he would put new tires on it to sell it? Probably trying to recoup the cost of the tires.

Funny about antique tractors how you can invest thousands and they only become worth hundreds. I'll bet a guy could spend more than 4K on a top to bottom restore and thats not considering any labor cost. But sad as it is a fully "well restored" not fence painted B would only be worth about 2K like previously stated. Lack of electrics wouldn't matter to me and the new tires is a plus but hope he didn't put them on for the sale. He'll loose his a** for that.

You sure could put more than 4k into a total restore but this one was "restored" 7 years ago and hasn't run lately. What is his definition of a restore? Maybe fix what don't work and do a nice paint job?

Hard to say what motivates people to price things the way they do. Could be they don't have to sell so why not put it on for a rediculously high price and if someone bites then great, money was made. I probably wouldn't take 4K for my CA in unrestored condition but in my mind I have something rare and special. I've seen alot of nice CAs both restored and not but after going to a show last month I'm even more convinced what I have would be very far and few between to find. Maybe not findable at all.

It has all the tires it was sold with 100% tread no cracking for starters. Absoluetly no rust on any part, was never farmed with, came with original manuals with original owners name and address on each book and tools where in the tool box. Steering wheel still has paint on the back side that operators hands haven't worn off yet. I could go on and on but thsi was a very rare find. Implements I got with it appeared to never have been used. Battery box still has the upper and lower plates and the box is perfectly rust free. |

I know of a WD45 like that " was use for a year or so" then parked and never used again! I wish it was for sale, because I would buy it up in a second!

If I wanted to spend $4000 on a 39 B I would want to spend it "Restoring" a 39 exactly the way it looked when my Grandpa bought one new in 39. To many obvious later vintage updates on this one to intrest me.
