https://www.americanexperiment.org/two-minnesota-liberals-introduce-legislation-to-ban-non-electric-lawn-equipment-by-january-1-2025/

Yesterday, two liberal lawmakers introduced new legislation that would adopt a California-style ban on the sale of new gas-powered lawn equipment in Minnesota by January 1, 2025. The bill applies to lawnmowers, leaf blowers, hedge clippers, chainsaws, lawn edgers, string trimmers, and brush cutters if the engine is smaller than 25 horsepower.

According to Bob Vila’s website, this would effectively outlaw any push-mower that is gas-powered, and it would impact most riding lawnmowers, which use engines topping out at 24 horsepower, as well.

While electric leaf blowers or hedge clippers may work fine for urban and suburban dwellers, these tools are entirely insufficient for anyone who needs to do serious work out in the country. Felling trees or cutting firewood on a wood lot with a battery-powered electric chainsaw? Give me a break.

This legislation wisely leaves snowblowers off the list of contraband, but its introduction demonstrates that urban and suburban liberals have no idea how rural Minnesotans live their lives, and it suggests that they don’t care to learn.

When you get down to brass tacks, this is the fault of the MN voter. Moron politicians are there with the permission of the voting public(or the Dominion voting machine).
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Yep, it's a classic case of the mentality that eventually destroyed the medival City-States...

And it is why the Temple of Apollo at Delphi has three archways:
- Above one archway:  "Know Thyself"
- And another : "Nothing In Excess"
- And the third:  "Surety Brings Ruin"

Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.

Wonder if city work crews will be exempt ???

Great, racist dogs can still "alert" to instigate a Fourth Amendment violation.

YES, to some extent.. Here in ILLINOIS, we have two Counties in/ near CHITCAGO with 5 MILLION TERD VOTES.... There are 102 COUNTIES south of that with 4.9 MILLION REPUBLICAN VOTES....... WE get a LOT of "we know best" from the CITY, and it effects EVERYONE in the Rural Areas south of that..

Here in MN we have 4 counties or 4 cities that control the elections ,
Each is run by Democrats and each is districted to take in parts of other counties to dilute the votes to prevent any objection to their agenda .
Mpls , St Paul , Duluth , Rochester  and odd the Unions in each of these cities is Strong backing Democrats - Duluth area is cheering the NO MINING yet their economy is based on Mining , Mpls is to the point crime is so bad that about 30% of jobs there are still remote and by 7 PM the streets are bare except for the criminals looking for victim's who have not fled yet  - Oh the mass transit lines or lite rail are highest crime areas in the nation - but fantastic for drug dealers and other criminal as they do not need to pay a fare and no one stops them from riding for nothing

Why is it now that we have to have things forced upon us by others?  I'm sure when cars and tractors were first invented not everyone was a believer, but when someone went putting down the road or your neighbor was able to plow 10 acres to your 1 with a horse people converted. I can see for some homeowners not mechanically inclined an electric lawn mower or weed eater is just fine but they are not for everyone. Just like a cordless battery operated tool is great but not for everyone. For a person living off the grid he now has to find a way to produce twice as much electric to charge his vehicle and other gas powered tools. I did have one idea though put an outlet out at the end of the driveway so when people drive by and need to charge some thing and charge at least double what the power company charges me for electricity.

Fatass tries to do that here in Illinois I'll just borrow a couple of cows from my boss and turn them loose in my yard.  We are controlled  by Crook county here in Illinois like Steve said.  Now our billionaire money waster wants to tax our social security because it will raise 1.8 billion dollars for the demoncraps to pi$$ away on cook county stuff.

Guys, I have an 80 volt battery operated chain saw that works well. I have a 40 volt battery weedeater that starts and runs every time. You couldn't give me another gas powered weed eater. My Echo chain saw runs on E85 all day long. Unfortunately my darn wore out back will no longer work all day long.

Tom it's one thing if YOU choose a non gas device ,it's totally different when you are FORCED by the government.

Say when GM went bankrupt few years back. What if, instead of using taxpayer money, the guv TOLD everyone, using a law ,that EVERYONE HAS TO BUY A GM CAR OR TRUCK ?

Think GM would be around ?

If and a doubt it, that it does actually become law, that hopefully there will be 10s of 1,000s of lawsuits filed as the law is unjust. Snowblowers are just as 'bad' as lawnmowers, city crews using gas chainsaws are the SAME as home owners, so the law is not just and equitable. It HAS to be 'all or nothing',otherwise some smart SOB like me will run his LEGAL snowblower on the 4th of July......

yes, I still have my Homelite XL1 ( 1985), never use it...sold the property that had trees on it,and I have a corded 10" pole saw..just in case, but ,dang WHERE did the years go !!!

If I lived in a state like that (I don't anymore - ex Illinois), I'd be yelling: "You can have my gas (chainsaw, mower, blower, etc...) when you pry it out of my cold dead hands!".  MN needs to take back their state.  Call your state rep.  Is there an online petition to sign? (Like they care, right?)

My Legislator sent me a reply to the situation as he sees it . ( them Democrats are going crazy with pent up power now that they have a majority in both houses )
The 2 legislators who proposed the bill live in 1st tier suburbs of the city of Mpls - and both areas are known as SNOB HILL areas, them rich people out there who do not mow their own lawns but have crews come in and use gas powered equipment - That Makes Noise  and disturbs their naps or drinkey time
My battery powered saws-all took 3 battery charges to try to trim 2 small trees .
Way back at folks home it took me 1 hour with a reel type push mower to mow yard , here it takes 4 hours with a 60" zero turn and around 4 gallons of gas ,
Guess if the unit is over 24 HP it's exempt - but a string trimmer at that HP is going to be hard to find as is a chain saw

BUT the real CRAZY is loose on GUN CONTROL - which I posted in the POLITICAL SECTION .
