Can't go wrong with a Vermeer baler. Built very well compared to other balers.
Maintenance is easy. Dealer support is excellent. Manuals are written in a logical format. Parts books give the bolt grade, diameter, length and threads per inch. |

My father has retired from farming and is selling his hay equipment. He has a JD 435 baler with twine, electric tie, twine only. Has approximately 4000 bales through it. He is asking $6000. This is a good baler with monitor. I would have bought it myself but just dealt on a NH with net wrap. Baler is located in central VA.

The Vermeer rebels are good little balers. I ran a 5400 for an elderly neighbor and it worked great. Made a nice package. I traded a 604J for a new holland last week. My baler was a 1986 and would eat some hay. Our local Vermeer guy gave up the dealership so parts are an hour away and stocking is spotty at best. If you have a good dealer close by, the Vermeer is a great baler and well made. I wanted net wrap and I have an awesome new holland dealer within 40 minutes that treats me right, hence the reason for going red. I bought a Vermeer trail mower from Carter and Carter in Johnson City 10 years ago. Not sure if they are still in business, but they were great to deal with and were $3000 cheaper than my local guy. Good luck with your search.

Congrats! My neighbor has a 567 and makes one hell of a bale. He did some sileage bales for me a few years ago and they were PACKED tight!

Regardless of what others say Deere is the best round baler money can buy. They are not cheap but will out-perform all others. Vermeer invented the round baler and back in the late 1970's-early 1980's they were ahead of Deere for a short time. Then Deere quickly passed up everybody. I was a Vermeer dealer from 1985-1991 and I will never forget the introduction of the 504i baler with no means to raise the pick-up for transport. At the dealer intro they said after extensive research they determined there was absolutely no reason to ever raise the pick-up. After 1 year they offered a kit to add a lift mechanism. Also their double twine arms back then were pure JUNK. You will enjoy baling with your baler!!!!
