I went and looked at an HD3 yesterday. I had up until a couple of weeks ago an IH 175B but wanted to downsize into something I can haul myself with a 1 ton. I just plan on using the smaller machine for loading dirt and piddling around on the 2 places I have. Anyway, the 3 has new chains, sprockets, rollers and grousers which is good, but was hard to start and smoked blue for quite a while even though it was in the high 80's. It steered fine both directions, another plus, but the bucket is completely worn out. There is more weld on it than original metal. There is an A/C 400 winch on the back but the controls are missing. He says he has most of another machine's worth of parts and is asking $4500 which seemed high to me. Other than the undercarriage, it looks really rough. What do you all think?

Both H3's brought $7200.00 and $8000.00 at the Nutsch sale.
