Anyone have a trailer with LED lights for taillights and turn signals ?
Pros , Cons ? Any input would be helpful. I am thinking about having mine converted over to LEDs

Yep.car trailer. It's a hard life back there in the salty spray. Lasted way longer than I ever got out of incandescent bulb lights. Maybe 6 or 7 years? Maybe longer. Forget exactly when I put them on. Just had to replace one of them because he was down to about 3 LEDs when I'd hit the brakes. Replaced it with another LED. Other side of the trailer is still going strong. Wont be going back to incandescent.

My goose neck looks like Christmas at night with LED's,very bright burning, mine have burned fatefully for about 10 years now without a failure, guess this will jinks me, I'll have to double check them now! It's the best thing you'll ever do for your trailer, truck will be happier with the lower amp draw too!

I've replaced the '1157' bulbs with LED equals on one of my trailers, the other has sealed LED units. Sealed ones are a better deal IF you can keep from banging into things! When I wire up trailers, I connect INSIDE of the enclosures,. solder and heatshrink. Makes for a neater, better install. I also use 1/2" black polypipe as a 'conduit' to get the wires from front to back.

I replaced the tail lights on my 18' deckover trailer that I haul hay with. Best thing I have done for that trailer! The LED lights are brighter and the rubber housing seals the salt better.

You need to have at least one regular light somewhere in the turn signal circuit or things won’t flash properly unless you get a special flasher.

That is an issue with commercial truck drivers and ignorant law enforcement officers. There is an "allowable" amount of LED loss that is acceptable. It was a big debate going on when I came off the road, so I never actually learned what they decided was the correct percent of loss. (I am not saying all law enforcement officers are ignorant) David from jax

Changed any lights I needed to replace with LED - including the Positive ground on my British Motorcycles (just need to buy + ground bulbs) as LED are polarity sensitive . On trailers and vibration producing units they lost better as no filament to break

I put LED lights on my car trailer when they first became avaliable over 15 years ago before that every time I took the trailer out I'd fix bulbs they just corroded and quit working. I put sealed LED units on and haven't touched them since every time I hook up the trailer I plug it in and they work.

The sealed stuff don't last out in the salt very long!---where the prongs plug in eats off the first thing and no way to seal salt out. I went back to regular bulbs on all of my trailers. --- Problem now is they quit making bulbs, so your screwed no matter which kind you use.

I tried LED on the truck bed when I repaired it and replaced all the lamps. Darn things would flutter flash and act all manner of weird, turns out has a slight issue in the alternator, charges fine but one diode is iffy, will stay iffy until quits charging and the LED bulbs got replaced with 194s

re: quit making bulbs ... really ? every cheap set($20 for complete trailer wiring pkg) has 2 -1157 and 3 -194s. re: salt corrosion providing the connector and lamps are new, a good dab of 'dielectric grease' will seal the connection. The problem with salt is once you've got ONE grain of it,unless you really,really, REALLY clena EVRYTHING.....well...it does EAT away...

in my part of the world when i do an Vehicle Inspection There is an "allowable" amount of LED loss that is acceptable.
NOTE: Any LED lights having over 25% not illuminated . will not pass dot
