How long of a stroke can you fit into this block. I have the block for sale and the potential buyer has asked that question. Thanks michael

It's going to depend on crankpin size and the rod they wish to use. With a smaller 2" crankpin and a well designed billet rod 5.75 would likely fit verry easy with room to spare and no block clearance. 6" would likely not take much work.

It's all going to depend on rod cap angle, rod profile and the size of the crankpin.

With a straight cap rod 5 1/4" might start to get tight. With a canted cap Farmall rod then 5 3/8will fit with verry little work.

I believe block numbers 38 to 40 were a little wider in the crankcase. All the pan rails are the same width but these blocks were wider in the crankcase. I've got one cleaned up in the shop and will throw a 5.4" crank in it later and give you a little better idea.
