My impression of it was a slap-in-the-face to the original composer  . No, I did not watch any of the game, I heard the wailing of the Anthem on this mornings "Low-Lights" of the game/adds and halftime show on the news  . I was watching Modern Marvels all evening  .

FG, I didn't hear it, from your description, probably just as well. The way recording artists squall and caterwaler in an effort to 'make it their own' has been a pet peeve of mine for a long time. Most are completely disrespectful. They don't get it, they all think it is about them! Most have no clue what they are singing about and what it means! And i have a big problem with the NFL for allowing such self serving performances. That was one of the reasons I sat this season out.....did not watch a game.

So was it as bad as the half time show or worse ?..... Some guy named Weekend was the half time show ? Never heard of him until i saw all the BAD REVIEWS...
Heard 90% of the commercials had BLACK actors in them... NFL and company Pandering to the lemmings ?

Steve, I did watch the game, but thank whatever, I recorded it and have fast forwarding.
BTW what part of this great state of Chicago do you live in?

i listened to it and it was the worst rendition ive ever heard. they ought to impeach godell or whatever his name is. as a leader he is a discrace period. the song and flag is a symbol of all the great people who died for our freedoms and should be respected by all citizens of the usa period. i could care less what the color of your skin is but if you dont like the song or flag then move to another country.

It was obvious to me, "the agenda" was being pushed in a lot of the commercials. Thankfully I missed the anthem being destroyed again, and I made sure to step away and have a beer during halftime so missed that too.

I heard it and thought it was horrible even tho it’s not my anthem. We have the same thing here in Canada as well so often. I think any anthem should be sung exactly as was meant by composer - nothing else!!!!!! Sorry for the rant.

It's too bad THE prerequesit(sp) to be selected to sing the National Anthem isn't to have BEEN in a foxhole under 'the rockets red glare'. If they had been ,even if for just a day, I'm sure they'd 'change their tune' and HONOUR the original composition of the anthems. The Canadian anthem has been corrupted to be bilingual ( French) even though there's more Italians in Canada than frogs..... It's probably just another carefully created 'dumming down of the masses' scheme... like '4+5=10' Jay

Sung poorly or not at all. Just heard the one Texas (Spurs I think, but don't want to falsely accuse anyone) basketball team has not been doing the anthem this season since no fans allowed so far.
