Hello all,

I have crossed the line and bought my first piece equipement from another brand.  I bought a JD AMT626 (predessor to the gator) to use around the farm, and it has some minor issues.  I have tried the JD forums but I am not impressed with the help, this forum is ten times better.  The knowledge on this forum is so great that I thought I would reach out here.

Anyway, the 626 brakes are non-existant, and I think they just need adjusted.  I found an adjustment screw, but I want to make sure I am doing things right as new calipers are $330 each new.  Does anyone know how to adjust the brakes on these?

Also it will jump out of gear every so often, and I was wondering if someone knew how the detents are constructed in the transmission, or how to fix it.  I just don't want to damage it any more than it already has been.  I can tear into it if I knew what I was going after.

If someone has access to a sevice/tech manual that would be fantastic.  I only need info on these two things now.

PS.  I don't plan on buying any non-allis equipement anytime soon.

Take Care,
Brad Bergman

The AC forum pulled through again!!  I would like to thank Joe for the manuals.  I got the brakes working decent, and I know what I need to do to fix the tranny.  Definitely a lot better response then the JD forums as I still have not received any good advice from them yet.  Thanks again, Brad

Maybe someone needs to post on the JD forums where to go for help if they have a breakdown.
