JD 440-IC Track Pad Bolts

I have been helping a neighbor resurrect a D 440-IC crawler.
Many of the track pads are loose.  The heads of the bolts are worn badly and most have been welded to the pads.  I tried to remove a couple of bolts but the welds broke.  Ended up torching them off.
What is the proper bolt (size and grade) for this machine?

Track bolts and nuts from a supplier who deals in track bolts . Most times the nuts are held by the track chain side link . Bolts are grade 8+ , as are the nuts. They have a torque spec to make sure they are streached to tension, the heads are also made in such a way they are subject to wear and hold tightness and hold plates to chain link. Loose pads lead to worn bushings and snakey track in short time as the pads keep the chain links alligned with the pin and bushing .

I read that JD has track bolts and are reasonable $$. The pad bolt hole has to be good also.

Found this site and it seems the debate there is also over which bolts to use .
For sure you want to find track bolts nad not machine screws or fasteners of regular grade . If I had to use something for quick repair i might use a G-8 bolt and nut
 On my FD 5 they are a 9/16 bolt but the new track I bought has the split link instead of master pin so that link uses longer bolts of two different lengths.
