I was helping a friend of mine bale some grass hay and thought I found a pretty unique Allis Chalmers Elevator at first glance. Came back a couple weeks ago and after looking into the elevator a little deeper I realized the elevator is very unique! Looks like someone welded took two Allis Chalmers mounted corn picker elevators together to make one elevator from the looks of it. Neat find, going to try to get it out of the weeds once and see if she still works.

My Dad, back in the 60's before I materialized, used an Allis picker elevator to remove dirt from the basement of the house so it get a cement floor. Modified it to mount an electric motor to it.

I talked my Dad into using an Allis picker elevator to get ear corn out of the crib and into the hammer mill. Mounted it to a 2-wheel frame that let us move it around. Used an electric motor and belt/chain reduction. Worked great. Speed was just right.......saved alot of throwing up and out & backaches. Edited by Gatz in NE - 15 Jun 2018 at 3:13pm |
