    Posted: 15 Feb 2025 at 8:17am
Hello all, I’ve lost the key to my AC 190XT gasser, can’t seem to find one online as the only options they give me are for the diesel (the switch has a momentary/heat setting). I just need a simple 2 action (on/off) switch. Can anybody give me a lead on where to find one? TIA

Noah, just GOOGLE  "2 position key switch"... there should be several to choose from.. Could be for a car, boat, truck, tractor, etc... If you have a 3 position with the "START" position, you just dont use that feature... I assume your switch is ON- OFF and then you use a push buttom for the START ...

you can get a switch with two screw terminals, two spade terminals , or two wires that you can splice in as needed... your choice.. this is AMAZON, but everyone should have similar.. NAPA or AUTOZONE ?

Keys are all the same. If you don't. Have an agco dealer close a small engine shop or local farm store would have them. A flat little t shaped key. Same as as mtd lawn more and many others.

The "key" is an INDAK brand key. It is the same as a John Deere 317 garden tractor. Get two. GAS and DIESEL use the same key !!

I think they are the same as the diesel.  No wire gets connected to the "start" position though.

Hi Noah

Welcome to the 'Unofficial Allis' Forum. This Forum has been around for well over 30 years.

When it first started there were many members that were Allis Dealers or Trained Allis Chalmers Mechanics.

But as time marches on, many of these valuable souls have passed on.

As has been mentioned, that key you have misplaced is about as common as a Toothbrush.

There are many Farm Tractors as well as Lawn and Garden Tractors that use that same key.

A same INDAK key only, or a switch and key are both available on ebay.

Here is a link to both

Good luck

Gary

are you sure you SWITCH is original ?  Could have been replaced in the last 50 years... Even if 50 years old, might be a good idea to replace switch and key ?

If you're looking for a key switch, I have over 200 different switches in stock. The OEM 170-190XT switch was a 5 blade terminal switch if memory serves me correctly. It's made by Indak which was kinda of a junky switch. Put a real switch in it like my 7 blade hi amp key crank switch. Our p/n 1501-11. Comes with a new plug and terminals that plug on the back of it. Fits the "D" series Tractors as well as the 100 series.  Comes with two keys. Hang one key on the hook for a spare......  Thumbs Up
