call it karma??? we heat our whole house with wood pellets, right now all the stores have sold out of them, and not ordering any more, they say it's spring time now and they hafta get the seeds out on display. there are no pellets to be had anywhere within 75 miles (one way) of me right now. I did special order a pallet load, but nothing has come in yet, others are in the same boat! the local farm store has orders enough to fill a semi, but they refuse to order them in...cuz it's spring time now they say! what part of zero and below degrees makes it spring time? the store manager was soooo happy yesterday, he got the seed potatoes and onions in!! I asked him if his parents had and kids that lived? he's the same manager that when a blizzard was predicted for 3-4 days before it hit, he shipped all the snow blowers back to the warehouse and got a load of new push mowers in! (they are all snow covered). I did e-mail the home office and order a pallet of pellets thru them, and also noted that they had a dumb a$$ managing the local store here. PfffffffT!

That's kinda the way it goes. Some of these store people don't have a clue as to what it's like out here in the real world! They only go by the date, and not by actual weather conditions.

Our little local Farm Store is pretty well that way, are told when to move goods off the floor into storage and when to set specials, truckloads are what Home Office wants to send in.

We sell about 2000 tons of pellets at our store every year.  This year, we had a hard time getting them in.  The summer and fall weather made for wet material, and wet material does not make good pellets.  So the manufacturers were short on making them, which makes everyone else short on them to sell.

Not only that, but the sales on pellet stoves has gone down hill in recent years, in part because of how cheap LP had gotten vs pellets.
Now my son informs me that it's gonna get a lot worse.  Seems the 'green' people are pushing for stricter laws.  Previous emissions on stoves was something like 7.3 on CO2, the new stoves coming out by January of next year must be at or less than 3.2.  Those numbers are from what I can REMEMBER he told me.  They might be an educated guess.....  Anyway, he says if you're looking for a stove, now is the time to buy one.
