Wait till a heavier snowfall, when you are plowing away when you suddenly hit an object frozen solid in the ice.
Before you even blink, your nose is flat against the windshield, and suddenly starting to hurt.
For some unknown reason it takes some of the fun away.

Yea almost froze out there today clearing the drive on the antique Ford Jubliee. Great tractor but has limits and it is wide open and cold. Way better than shoveling! Plow on the F250 is sounding better all the time! Your IH is ready for about anything! The side by side with the cab is a very nice unit too! Regards, Chris

I put a Hiniker plow on my GMC after a back surgery a few years ago. (Always wear the seat belt) Climbing into the 7045 wasn't fun that winter. Heated seats and heat that comes out at your feet is a great way to go. I could not and would not believe that snow can be piled as high with it as the WD45 and a Stan-Hoist trip bucket can do.

I was whining to my sister just south of Rockford, IL. about it being 10 below here. She said it's been close to 35 below there the last 2 nights. Guess I'd better stop whining!

Must be wind chill. I live just West of Rockford and the lowest we've seen was -20. It really doesn't matter, -20 or -35 it's cold!

Living in the Tug Hill area of NY we get a fair amount of snow. This place isn't too far from us. I rode my snowmobile through there on Saturday.
With that said, I like comfort when I'm plowing too. This is for the day-to-day stuff;
and this is for when we run out of room to plow;
And this is when playtime gets serious - doing a little early season last November;

My snow removal tool these past few years has been a push broom, but I haven't needed it this year It's 42 here right now. Supposed to be 75 on Thursday. Not sure if I could stand living up there with all y'all. I don't know what a cold winter is. Snowmobiling does sound fun though. Hope the ol' Super 100 up in MN still has an intact engine block when I see it again  Never really worried much about blocks busting down here.

This is what I use when the snow got to deep... Vplow on the loader of 170 and a bale on back for traction... and if I had to, the chains get put on  And when it gots worse, then started up an old FORTY DIESEL Cat or a D7 and pushed. Haven't needed them for several years, just used bucket on 170, or a 610 Bobcat... or the 974 that does have an enclosed cab.

Hey CrestonM my wife and I were riding our atv's on Sun. The weather a balmy 9 degrees. The snow was too deep to get to our cabin.

No.....Getting old or getting soft.
If you really NEED the snow gone you gotta be in a old fricking tractor in the open, 10 degrees out and a north wind about 15-20. Got so many clothes on you can hardly move and be out there for 4-5 hours.
When you can't feel your nose or your toes and snot is froze to your face you know you are done and question whether your fingers are still there because you have to pee.

Kind of the reason I deal with the Fruits and Nuts around here. Only 30 F and that is low enough to send me back in with more good oak fire wood.
