Hymn #365

This is a hoot, but I suspect the minister didn't appreciate it.

A minister was completing a temperance sermon. With great emphasis he said,
"If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river."

With even greater emphasis he said,
"And if I had
All the wine in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river."

And then finally, shaking his fist in the air, he
Said,
"And if I had all the whiskey in the world,
I'd take it and pour it into the river."

Sermon complete, he sat down.

The song leader stood very cautiously and announced
With a smile, nearly laughing, "For our closing song,
Let us sing
Hymn #365, "Shall We Gather at the River."

Smile, life is too short not to !!
If this brightened your day

See you at the river!

Faith isn't a jump in the dark. It is a walk in the light. Faith is not guessing; it is knowing something.
"Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful."

Bet a lot of you remember these two songs

[TUBE]GXM6txlC03g[/TUBE]

Going up the country
-I'm going up the country, babe don't you wanna go
-I'm going up the country, babe don't you wanna go
-I'm going to some place where I've never been before
-I'm going, I'm going where the water tastes like wine
-Well I'm going where the water tastes like wine
-We can jump in the water, stay drunk all the time
-I'm gonna leave this city, got to get away
-I'm gonna leave this city, got to get away
-All this fussing and fighting, man, you know I sure can't stay
-Now baby, pack your leaving trunk, you know we've got to leave today
-Just exactly where we're going I cannot say, but
-We might even leave the USA
-'Cause there's a brand new game that I want to play
-No use of you running, or screaming and crying
-'Cause you've got a home as long as I've got mine

Canned Heat "Rollin' And Tumblin, Part 1"

Oh well, a-rollin' and a-tumblin', baby, I cried the whole night long Oh well, a-rollin' and a-tumblin', baby, I cried the whole night long Oh well, I had the feeling, baby, that something was going on wrong.

Oh well, I tried last night, papa, I tried the night before Oh well, I tried last night, papa, I tried the night before Oh well, I had the feeling, baby, that you don't love me no more.

Well, if the river was whiskey, I was a diving duck Well, if the river was whiskey, I was a diving duck Well, I would swimm to the bottom, baby, I wouldn't come home.

Oh well, a-rollin' and a-tumblin', baby, I cried the whole night long Oh well, a-rollin' and a-tumblin', baby, I cried the whole night long Oh well, I had the feeling, baby, that something was going on wrong.

Kinda reminds me of the time the beer truck turned over, in millersville, near the methodist church, and everybody bailed out, and used sponges and buckets, to sop it up...

What's the diff between a methodist anna baptist preacher?  The methodist will talk to ya, at the liquor store!Wink
