The hydrolic ram that lifts my mower on my B is leaking pretty bad from the cylinder. Does anyone have any information on them or know where I could get seals and or parts for it.
Thanks Peter |

Try tightening the packing gland nut some, see if that helps. That's all it took for my WD lift arm cylinders.

Baum Hydraulics may have a kit of parts. Almost sure to have the parts individually for proper sealing, but they may be hard to identify. Download the last two sections of their catalog, their on line search isn't very good. Then call them.

Peter,
It's a ways away for you, but I took the rams for my CA to a local hydraulics shop in Eau Claire. They did a pretty good job. It's called Planert Hydraulics.

I've tightened that nut as tight as i twill go so thats not the problem, I may try those other place or I may just buy a new one. I may not even use it if I buy a woods mower with the lift because one of the spindles on this deck don't have bearings in it.
Thanks for the ideas though. |

What is the model of the Woods Mower? I may have some extra spindles for it. Also a leather packing kit for the ram will probably cure your leak, especially if the ram is not pitted or rough. A slight leak is desirable for its own lubrication.

Depending on the rod size and the cylinder size, you could probably buy the chevron packing for $10-$12. If the rod is in good shape it is a pretty simple job to replace the packing. A place like Motion Industries will have the Chevron packing.
