I would like to add a hour meter to my B and CA, and probably all my AC's that don't have a tach.
Suggestions? This would be something simple, under the hood that I can peek at to check the hours. I have one on my Dirt Bike that wraps around the spark plug wire and keeps hours. would that work?

I believe you can buy an electric hour meter that is not much more than a 12 volt clock, if your tractor has been converted to 12 volt.
I have an hour meter similar to this on my Honda EU2000i generators. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200624883_200624883?cm_mmc=Google-pla-_-Engines-_-Small%20Engine%20Accessories-_-160595&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=160595&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=160595&gclid=CPKNhbXvxsQCFfRj7Aod9U4AqA It picks up an impulse from the spark plug wire. It works well on the generators. I don't know why you couldn't use one on a gas tractor. |

Google tinytach. They have several options, some even have service reminders on them...

This is the hour meter I was talking about in the first part of my post. Unlike most tractor hour meters, they will not take engine speed into account (an hour at rated PTO speed), but are really like a 12 volt clock.
A lot of industrial equipment has this type of meter. |
