I happen to be floatin' around on e-bay the other night lookin' for a few parts for my other 716H, and saw a 700 series Garden Tractor for sale less the engine and hood. The seller mentioned it had the "rare" high/low trans in it. Can someone explain the high/low trans and how rare is it? Just curious...

Not Rare! LOL  700 & 900's had 6 speed Hi-Low, 4 speed shuttle or hydro transmissions available for them.
Forgot to add hi-low is a double set of different sized pulleys on bevel gear box and transmission. Double drive belts to each and when you push clutch down and move lever it shifts the idle to the opposite belt. Were simple and no problems with them.

Thanks for the explaination! When items are listed as "rare" one tends to get suspicious as to "how rare" something may be. Kinda' juices up the sales promo a bit. LOL! Thought for a second, that I was missin' somethin' about this so-called "rare" option...

Forgot to mention the high - low kit for B 10's and 12's are little hard to find and pricey when you do find one. I guess you could call them rare. Big smile
