How many of you have seen any of this paper?
![]() Now for the story. Many who really know me, know that my grandpa used to work at Allis Chalmers in West Allis. He was the head of the parts dept for the tractor division for many years and later was the office manager for the tractor division. Anyways, this must have been one of the things that he brought home over the years. If you look at it really close, you can tell that the watermark is a hair off center, so who knows if it was rejected and couldn't be used by the office. One day he came up to my parents farm with a couple boxes of this paper, which my mom has been using for the last 40+ years to make grocery lists, to do lists etc, and to let us kids and grandkids draw and doodle on. When I started collecting AC stuff after acquiring my dad's 45 diesel, my mom and dad gave me a small pile of this paper. Well the other day, my daughter was over by the grandparents and she was doodling on some more of this paper. I teased my mom that you guys would have a heartattack if they found out that kids were doodling on this highly collectable paper. So my mom got mad at me and walked into the backroom and grabbed the whole pile and brought it out and gave me the rest. I told her that I would trade her a box of office paper so I could "save" the rest. What once was a couple boxes is now a pile of about 3" high, but I just thought I would share that I "saved" the rest. Kind of neat to have something of grandpa's as he died when I was 5 so I never got to share any AC stories. Someday we will.

Cool, I have a few things that belonged to my Grandfather and I never had the chance to meet him. He had been gone 15 years before I was born. Some day I can tell him how tractors took the place of horses. He never owned a tractor.

I hear you about the stories. My great grandfather died a little after I was born. 18 years later his tractor is being restored. I'm mostly doing it for my grandmother. I haven't heard many stories, but it seems like when you don't know many, you sure do have plenty of your own to tell about them!

My Grandfather was killed in a farm accident the spring before I was born in August 1947. They tell me he somehow rolled the tractor and pinned himself under in a creek, drowning. Tractor ? AC WC.

One of my treasures is tools that my Grandfather has given me over the years.
Thanks for saving some of the History of Allis Chalmers.
Good Luck!
Bill Long
ps: If you want to sell some let me know.
