I wine maker friend in your neighborhood told me yesterday that the Russian river was at 47' above flood stage.  Are you all OK?

John...Tom.. Thanks for thinking of us...yes we are fine at this end. The Russian River does run through our property..we are very near the head waters of the west fork of the Russian River. It fluctuates very fast at this end. It rises and recedes rapidly. The further down stream it goes the worse it gets. So yes the people in Sonoma couty really took a beating. The 47' above flood stage would mean more like the reading at which ever bridge they were referring to. Most of the brides on the river have a measurement that they go buy...not sure which one that was...but if flood stage is considered to be 45'..then 2' above is disaster. Most people living there know it's going to happen sometime.  But the saying "COME HELL OR HIGH WATER"....summer fires...winter floods....yep..were livin the dream.
