My service manual doesn't have my style transmission brake set up in it. It has one similar to it listed for the 7000 SN 8001 and up, but it's not exactly the same. Here is a picture of it:
It's got a longer spring than the manual shows, and in addition to that, it has a bottom and a top set of adjusting nuts, so I can adjust both the compression on the spring and the amount of free travel in the linkage before the spring starts to engage the brake. Does anyone know the measurements for the springs length adjustment (it's uncompressed length is about 8-10 inches) and how much free travel the linkage should have before enaging the brake lever. I'm surprised it's not in my manual, as I have the black belly late 1978 copy of the service manual, but maybe there was another change, as my 7000 is a late 79 black belly model.

I still have it as well, just let me know and I can e-mail it to you. I'll try to post a link to download it, but let me know if that doesn't work and I'll e-mail it:
That is a link that should allow you to view and download a copy on your computer. I didn't put an expiration date on it, so as long as I have that cloud drive and don't move the file, it should be available to anyone in the future. Hurst |
