Hi guys-Does anyone on here live near Colorado Springs?

I am looking to buy a car on auction and am looking for someone to look at it ahead of me bidding.   It is located at Copart (they sell salvage vehicles)  at this location:   3701 N Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. The place is open 8-5 during the week.

The person I am looking for would drive to this site, check the fluids, run/drive the car and look it over and give me their honest opinion.  I might also ask for some pictures to be taken.

I would compensate the person for their time.

Any takers?
Has anyone bought vehicles from this place?  If so, how did it go?

Thanks in advance.

son #3 lives in "The Springs".  He is one busy boy flippin houses
We have a Copart Yard here between our house and Longview Texas. It is my  understanding that not just anybody can bid and buy at a Copart Auction.  I have a friend in the salvage business who bought a cute 48 Studebaker Business coupe that had been in a fire.   Smoked up with a few spots of blistered paint
Awhile back I would pull up this local  Copart location and browse their current inventory looking at Jeeps.
Wish I could help you.  If you find something at this Texas location lemme know

My buddy buys from copart in MPLS alot.
I think,.. maybe,... if you plan to bid over $1000 you need to give them $200 just to bid.
Under that anyone can bid by sending them a pic of their driver's license.
What kind of car are you buying?

I am looking to buy a hail damaged car for a daily driver.   I would not fix it unless glass is damaged.

Fees do exist along with transportation and just need to be figured into your bid.

I think most of these hail damaged vehicles go for ~60% of low retail...so do the math and it is a deal.

That is funny...I have looked at their lot and there isn't alot of vehicles I would be interested in.   I am looking for a hail damaged Equinox or equivalent w/less than 100K miles.  Guess I need to wait until we have a hail storm in the area.  :-)

Worth sharing on hail damage.
Had a Dodge dbl cab4WD the co. sent down from CO when I hired on, maybe 15K miles on it.
One month in TX and a bad storm came through a day or two before the one in Norman, OK. Peppered that truck pretty much everywhere and took the windshield out.
Put a new windshield in while home office figured out where they wanted to shop it for body work.
Parked in the driveway when retired neighbor came over and filled me in. Told me to park it at different angles to the sun and watch what happens to the hail dings over time.
We can get pretty intense heat here but I did not expect what this retired body shop owner said could happen.
Nearly all the dings from hail "popped out" over two weeks of 95-100F+ weather.
Knew the sheet metal had gotten thinner on newer vehicles, but that heat popped out all but about 10 dings and they were the bigger ones.
Sent new pics to home office and they agreed we could live with dings that were left, a couple on the cab posts and some on the roof.

Not uncommon for insurance companies to total out vehicles in these parts due to hail damage so salvage titles can get pretty common at times on Craig's List ads.
I shudder to think about the flood vehicles being moved around the country currently . . . .
