While running down some gravel roads in the jeep checking out the fields the other evening, I saw some old iron sticking up out of some high weeds. Didn't think much at first, but then I recognized two large steel hoops that I remember seeing on an old Allis grader (pre-hydraulics). Had to get out and investigate, (which annoyed the wife cause I do this pretty often) and what I discovered was an "Adams Leaning Wheel Grader No.12"
Apparently it was pulled behind something (team of horses maybe) but it was all there. I think I detected some orange paint on it and was wondering if it was made for Allis Chalmers. It's definitely pre- WWII maybe even early 1900's. The grader blade alone had to be at least 10-12 ft. It was very cool and a lot of fun, because most times when I think I see something and my wife says it's just a pile of junk, it usually is!

I always tell the WAR DEPARTMENT (aka Wife) that it's not "JUNK", it's "STUFF". As with most things I tell her it's in on ear and out the other.

I have one similar to those as yard art in my backyard. It belonged to my wifes great grand dad. He used to maintain the roads in his area with it. It was pulled by a team of horses as I was told.
All the wood on it is gone and the blade was missing when I got it. It was going to get scraped so I latched onto it, that was 25 years ago.
