Found this when cleaning out the fuel tank on my HD5 , now as I already have one I found a few years back on another of my machines this one has been laying in the bottom of tank for the last 37 years while I have owned the machine and i never knew it was there . So now i am in the posession of two.

you must have found it when you were cleaning the tank. did it fix your shut down issues? how much crud was built up?
HD5B, HD5G, (2) FARMALL A's, CUB. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, IGNORE THE LAUGHTER. FLANNEL IS ALWAYS IN STYLE.

In filter picture is the string filter on right , brown/black blob, after changing both filters it started and ran 4 hours than lost power again but still ran to get into shop.
 The spin on filter was plugged, the other was still clean. drained the tank and lot of crud came out with fuel. and have lot of sediment in bottom of the containers I put it in.
 Still need to flush and vacuum out tank but baffles keep one from seeing all across tank.
Dip stick was stuck under baffle on left side and took a few tries with long bar and hook wire to get out.
