What model of Cummins engine operated the HD31 ? Was there more than one model over the 31's production cycle ? TIA.

KT1150 powered the HD31; 6.25' bore and stroke 6 cyl cummins. 425 hp I think. Were a very common and reliable motor from all reports. Was even a few kenworth W900 series here in nz with KT525 power
tits tyres and tracks

they all cost you money

Thanks Merv. That's what I thought too (KT1150) All my reference books and sales brochures state that. It's just that I'm having a discussion elsewhere and a person is stating that a Cummins K19 powered the HD31. Are you familiar with the K19 engine ? I thought it was a marine engine ?

K19 is the later metric designation for the 1150 (19 liter) Ross. They were not known as K19`s back when 31`s were produced though

The HD 31 tractor later became the FD40 (Fiat Dozer designation) ... same motor
Like them all, but love the "B"s.
