Guys I have a chance to buy a very early HD 16. Guy said it runs good but the tranny is out. Tracks and undercarriage are decent. He told me transmission parts are no problem as it has a truck transmission in it, possibility a Mack tranny. I've never heard of that. Does any one know 1 way or another? Thanks Guys.

its a 3 speed transmission with a high-low in each gear and 3 reverse speeds.  nothing like a truck except its a manual.  rear of trans has a flange that bolts to rear housing and locates pinion to bevel gear.  pinion stays in transmission when removed.  lost of those transmissions around for parts and easy to work on.  if it runs and has good uc, it would be worth getting.  could be as simple as a bearing.
