    Posted: 14 Apr 2016 at 12:22am
Hello all, we're getting ready to sell and I need help locating the serial number on a HD14.  I can't find it even though tractordata says it's "behind transmission case, right side."  Anyone have a better description?  Thank you in advance.

Upper right hand corner as you face the rear of the tractor. They can be coverd up if the tractor has a winch.

Well then that could explain it.  It does have a large ex-military winch.  Is the serial number on a plate or stamped?  Thank you again for the help.

HD14 had the same rear end as the L had and they were stamped on top of a horizontal surface down on the right side of rear case. They were not a big hunk of steel squared off like other crawlers were, they had the transmission behind the ring and pinion.

Thanks guys.  There was a little dust on it but I found it.  According to tractordata, it was made in '44.
